Hello. My name is Tiffany. I am a blender. And you should be one too.

Before you slam the door on my blog and write me off the planet as a crazy mechanical whipper-snapper, please know that I’m talking about blending digitally. Using Photoshop or Photoshop Elements to create scrapbook pages full of digital blends. We should all blend because … we mix so well. But HOW do you blend?

Over the past six months, I developed a self-paced class to help digital scrapbooker’s hone their digital blending skills. Welcome The Digital Scrapbooker’s Guide to Blending! Discussed within are my secrets for using blend modes, layer masks, page masks, gradient fill adjustment layers, selection tools, and refined edges to make pages that look like …

The type of page above goes far beyond using custom templates. Gotta keep it real! This type of page requires a time investment and specific attention to your photos. And, let’s face it, blending technical know-how. The Digital Scrapbooker’s Guide to Blending supplies the know-how.

Unlike my instructor-led classes, you can jump into the content at your leisure. Take your time but still have the benefit of access to the student gallery and the forum. I hope you’ll start today so we can all become blenders … together.

Hi. Will this be applicable if I use PSE 8? I know it’s time to upgrade, but just haven’t done that yet. If PSE 8 doesn’t have the capabilities please let me know. If it’s a matter of where to find tools, I can probably figure that out.

      Hi Cole,

Most of the material can be used in conjunction with PSE8 with the major exception being how to modify a layer using a Layer’s Mask.

If you’ve installed one of the PSE plug-ins to create a Mask or know how to work with an Adjustment Layer as a Layer’s Mask, then you will have no problem.

Should you jump into class, I’m also available to answer version related questions in the private forum.
