Holiday Templates 2011 | Special Guests
In this year’s Holiday Templates workshop, I’ve teamed up with Kelly Willette, Gennifer Bursett, and Chari Pack of Persnickety Prints. You won’t find more knowledgeable folk in their respective career fields. And they’ll share what they know in class with us!
Kelly Willette | Photography Guest
Kelly, photographer mom extraordinaire, is the woman behind the Joy series of online classes and e-books. She shares her photography setups, posing guides, list of photos to take, even her doggone Lightroom actions and we love her for it. She simply brings joy.
For our Holiday Templates workshop, she shares insights into her holiday photography both indoors and outdoors. You’ll learn how she “stages” photo set ups, what she always includes in backgrounds for magazine-worthy shots, and details of her favorite holiday moments.
Gennifer Bursett | Shadowing Guest
My fellow DHD homie Gennifer is a shadowing juggernaut. Take a really close look at one of her digital scrapbooking pages.
Look at the detail. The photo just doesn’t lay flat, it curls up a bit. Her ribbon’s shadow casts right off the page and the flowers look like I could reach out and snatch it off. Now THAT’S shadowing! I had thought I, or anyone for that matter, couldn’t feature more about shadowing. We’ve learned all we can, right!?
But Gen proved me wrong. She produced videos for both the Photoshop and Photoshop Elements students showing her exact methods for detailed shadowing. I was actually floored because I learned new ideas from watching her material! You’ll see me use her Toolbox Shadows during workshop lessons but after Gen’s videos, you’ll really advance further than basic shadowing techniques.
Chari Pack | Persnickety Prints
Part of the Holiday Templates experience is the final print of your layouts, album, … something in hand. This year, I’ve partnered with Persnickety Prints to offer every student a major discount towards a custom-made, post-bound album with discounts towards 12×12 prints. I posted a photo of mine here. But I wanted to do more than just offer an album print solution.
Chari, one of the three “printminds” of Persnickety will join us for a LIVE webinar to answer all of our print questions. For so many editions, we’ve tossed ideas around like 12×12 vs. 8×8 printing and what font size remains legible when reducing layouts. What print space should we use? What the heck is a bleed and how/when should I be concerned? Chari will help us understand all those technical “printie” things we DON’T understand.
And the fact that she’s super sweet is pretty cool too.
The Template Team Page Artists
Finally, 12 of the most amazing page crafters I know created 40 inspiring pages with over 60 more to go. That’s right, at the very least you’ll receive 100 page ideas of Holiday Templates inspiration by my template team. You’ll find their pages used as examples for lesson content and created during the month of December to highlight their own holiday family memories.
I love that my team consists of women who are alumni of the template classes. And I’m excited to share in this class with them.
Here’s one cool example page by page artist Mel using the Paislee part of the class kit.
Join me tomorrow for the giveaway winner announcement and the Holiday Templates Q&A.
